What is the door doing?
Schematic, not to scale. The trucks leave from Fort Myers, on the south bank.

North Fort Myers is across the river from our trucks. The truck usually takes the Edison Bridge.

When the Edison backs up, the truck switches to the Caloosahatchee Bridge on US-41. Both slow down at rush hour, and the arrival window you get on the phone allows for that.

Usual time on site: about 1 hour, both springs. About this repair

Since Ian, check the label on your door

Ian came ashore at Cayo Costa on September 28, 2022. If your garage door was replaced after the storm, it's worth knowing what's on its label, because a door that looks strong isn't the same as a door rated for your street.

Lee County is not HVHZ
That zone is Miami-Dade and Broward. Here the whole county is a wind-borne debris region, and most of Fort Myers is designed for about 160 mph.
Every replacement needs a permit
And a Florida Product Approval number that fits your street's wind and exposure. We pull the permit.
Insurers look at the weakest opening
The 2026 wind mitigation form rates the house by its weakest opening, and that includes the garage door. Keep the label and the papers.

What people wrote after the visit

“Spring went with a bang on a Sunday morning, and my car was stuck inside. They told me who was coming, and he showed up inside the window they gave me. Put in two new springs, ran the door up and down a bunch of times, and was gone before lunch.”

Denise K.Cape CoralSpring repair

“Kitchen roll-up jammed halfway on a Friday, right before dinner service. Bent guide. They had it running that evening, and he showed us the bottom slats are rusting through, so that's the next call.”

Marco V.Fort Myers BeachRoll-up door repair

“The last company we called wouldn't touch our RV bay door. These folks measured the motorhome, roof AC and all, took care of the county permit, and the new door clears it with room to spare.”

Bill and Rhonda T.AlvaRV garage door

“Opener died during a thunderstorm and I figured I was buying a new one. The tech went to the outlet before he touched the opener. GFCI by the workbench had tripped. He reset it, showed me where it was, looked over the springs and rollers while he was there and said they were fine. Told me to get a surge protector and left.”

Ray H.North Fort MyersOpener check

“Two visits, because the panel had to be ordered. They said so at the start. Door looks right. Would have liked one trip.”

Gloria L.Whiskey CreekPanel replacement

“Broken spring on a Saturday. On time, tidy, and the door's quieter now.”

Questions people ask before they call

We work on both sides of the Caloosahatchee: Fort Myers on the south bank, North Fort Myers and Cape Coral across the bridges, Fort Myers Beach over the Matanzas Pass, and Tice, Fort Myers Shores, Buckingham, Alva and Lehigh Acres to the east. For Gateway, Iona, San Carlos Park, Estero, Bonita Springs and North Naples, call our sister team, Estero Garage Door N More, at (239) 893-3139.

You get three texts: the technician's name and truck number before the truck leaves, a short update from our office while the truck is on its way (as it reaches the bridge, if there's one between us), and a photo of the tech on arrival. If the person at your door doesn't match that text, don't open. Call us at (239) 990-3754.

A few things take a minute to rule out: the manual lock on the door, the red emergency cord, the opener's plug, and the GFCI outlet and breaker that feed it. Wipe the two safety sensors near the floor and see if their lights are steady, and if only the remote fails, try a new battery. If the door still won't move, or a spring or cable looks broken, leave it down and call.

We do: besides home garage doors, we repair commercial sectional and roll-up doors on shops, restaurants and warehouses, and tall doors on RV bays and barns. Most commercial repairs take 1 to 3 hours on site, and an RV or tall door repair takes about half a day.

Because a price on a website can't see your door. In local reviews, the complaint we read most is waiting with no word from anyone, and a quote that grows once the tech is in the garage comes up too. So the price comes to you in writing, and the work starts only after you have seen it. What we list instead is how long each job takes on site: most repairs take 1 to 2 hours.
