Garage doors in Cape Coral, across the Midpoint
The city counts a 400-mile canal system, and plenty of garage doors here look out on the water.

How the truck gets to Cape Coral
Cape Coral is across the river from our trucks. The truck usually takes the Midpoint Memorial Bridge.
For homes in the southeast Cape, the Cape Coral Bridge can be the shorter way over, and the truck takes it instead. Both bridges back up at rush hour, more so in winter season.
Dario from Fort Myers Garage Doors N More is heading to Cape Coral in truck 2.

The city issues its own permits
Cape Coral runs its own permitting, separate from Lee County and from Fort Myers. A replacement garage door needs a city permit, and the application lists the manufacturer and the door's Florida Product Approval. The job isn't finished until the city's inspection passes. Permits across Lee County.
Waterfront lots take more wind
A house that faces a wide basin, the river or open water can fall under wind exposure D, which calls for a much higher design pressure than a house on an inland street. For a waterfront lot, the new door's Product Approval has to cover that exposure. Keep the label on the door and the papers in a drawer: a wind mitigation inspector can only credit what's documented. Impact and wind-rated doors.
Replaced after Ian? Check the permit
Plenty of Cape Coral doors were swapped in a hurry after Ian, and in 2024 the city sent one homeowner to a code hearing because her new garage doors went in without a permit. If your door was changed in 2022 or 2023 and you never saw a permit, look it up with the city before an insurance inspection or a sale. If one is missing, call us and we'll explain what it takes to set it right.
